Following The Trend - Products and Ideas To Support National Mental Health Awareness Month  

Introduction  

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. Millions of Americans are dealing with some type of mental disorder. We need to help them by reminding them that they aren't alone and encourage them to get help if needed. Look into products and ideas that support National Mental Health Awareness Month that range from clothes to books to learning relaxation techniques. 

Useful Products   

Sometimes the right product can help someone who needs a mental boost (and that includes yourself). Consider purchasing these items

  • Home Decor - Scented candles, potted plants and flowers, suncatchers or framed inspirational artwork can brighten rooms and enhance a relaxing environment in your home.
  • Health and Beauty - Foot massagers, facial cream, bath bombs and Epsom salt soakers, sleep masks and weighted blankets all help their users physically and emotionally.

Other Ways to Support Mental Health  

Besides purchasing specific items, people can find other ways to promote mental health awareness. Sign up for a yoga class or work out at a gym to relieve stress and maybe invite a friend to join you. Download a meditation app, such as Headspace, to help you unwind. Give a friend who needs self-reflection a self-help or gratitude journal, including a Me-est Me Journal.  

Citizens and businesses should also think about donating money to organizations and local charities to support mental health awareness. These organizations include National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) , and Mental Health America. Businesses should consider collaborating with charities for fundraising events. Promotional products companies can provide items such as t-shirts, caps, tote-bags, posters and stickers, buttons, and message pens to these events.
