Following The Trend - The Dos and Don'ts on How To Use AI

Introduction

Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained increasing popularity and prolificness in the business world. Whether it's the sales, marketing or promotional products industries, companies use AI tools for their business needs, but there are risks that could actually hurt business and lose customers' trust. Learn the dos and don'ts on how to use AI to protect your business and keep it thriving.

Why AI Is So Popular

Many companies feel overwhelmed with the increase in workload. Therefore, they delegate mundane tasks to AI programs. The first sales cold calls and emails are usually done with AI. AI tools also organize work orders and can sort out various data reports. When analyzing research and online data, AI can predict consumer trends rather accurately and also determine competitors' strengths and weaknesses.

AI is also a useful tool for creating digital art for marketing ads or online and social media platforms. People like to use apps such as ChatGPT to write news articles or online blogs. The downside is AI only uses already available works, so there's no originality to the content without human involvement.

The Dos of AI

All businesses should plan out strategies on how they'll use AI before actively relying on it:

  • First, do research on what areas your company may benefit the most from AI. If your company has never or rarely used AI, it's better to start small.
  • Designate minor tasks to AI, including first cold calls and emails and gathering data and sales reports. The extra time allows workers to focus on more important tasks.
  • Use the data analysis from AI to find your company's target audience and learn more about their interests and buying patterns.
  • Make sure you enter high-quality data for your AI analysis and set clear metrics.
  • Frequently test AI systems and refine them as needed to ensure accurate analysis.
  • Train your employees on proper use of AI and potential security risks.

The Don'ts of AI

Businesses should also consider the cons of and what not to do with AI:

  • Don't rely solely on AI for digital artwork and online articles as most content would lose creativity. Do a hybrid format with human input.
  • Don't use AI for international marketing as AI isn't always accurate in its translation and you risk saying something offensive.
  • Avoid plagiarism in articles as AI gathers previously written content. Add original content from your staff.
  • Avoid overfitting the data that might skew the results of your analysis.
  • Don't use AI past the first cold call or to answer specific emails from customers about your services. Companies still need the human connection and great customer service that AI won't ever provide. Always have human representatives available to make or answer phone calls, emails or texts.
