Product Spotlight - Best Hats To Wear For National Hat Day

Introduction

National Hat Day, which occurs on January 15, gives hat lovers everywhere a chance to celebrate. Hats don't just cover our heads; they make a statement about our personalities and our interests (i.e. a baseball team's cap). Check out the best hats to wear for National Hat Day that show your favorite style and color.

Casual and Everyday Hats

Certain people don wide-brimmed hats, especially in the southern and southwestern U.S. Cowboy hats, sombreros, and straw hats help shield the eyes and face from the bright sun and give wearers a rugged appearance. Pageboy hats and berets are casual yet trendy headpieces that people can decorate with pins or studs to express their tastes. Bucket hats come in different colors and materials (ie cotton, denim, etc.) Baseball and trucker caps remain popular headgear. For fun occasions, wear a party cone hat or a funny dunce cap.

Many people wear hats for their occupations, such as toque blanches (or chef's hats) and ranger hats. Helmets can technically be considered hats, including the ones worn by firefighters and construction workers.

Formal and Event Hats

Many people enjoy wearing high-end stylish hats for parties and special events. They include the derby hats decorated with flowers worn for Easter and the Kentucky Derby.  Men wear top hats or bowler hats that can go with a black or white top, although some men might prefer hats and matching tops of brighter colors. Women would like pillbox hats or fascinators and might add veils and ribbons to look more elegant. They can wear hats of various colors to match their dresses and purses. For a more retro look, consider cloches, a short-brimmed hat whose popularity started in the 1920s. One example is this Belfry Ardea from Hats on the Belfry.

Hats For Colder Weather

One major reason people wear hats is to keep their heads warm, especially during the winter. Beanies and stocking caps, with or without pom-poms on top, are perfect for the outdoors. Craftsy people can knit their own wool or cotton caps with the right materials. Ushankas, or Russian fur hats, will protect the wearer's head from the cold. You can't go wrong with the classic trapper hat, which might be made of all fur or a mixture of fur and leather, including Overland's Hayes quilted shearing sheepskin trapper hat.
